Netizens shocked TV censors blurred Puteri Indonesia contestants wearing traditional Indonesian kebaya
So a lot of people were shocked when Indonesian TV channels started censoring children’s cartoons like Doraemon and Spongebob Squarepants. But most Indonesians probably didn’t think much of it because ultimately it was about “protecting the children” and "traditional Indonesiaan culture".
But at what point will people start saying “enough is enough” when it comes to censorship? Maybe when the increasingly conservative KPI (Indonesian Broadcasting Commission) start trying to protect Indonesians from their own culture?
Last Saturday the Puteri Indonesia 2016 pageant was broadcast on local channel Indosiar, with Kezia Warouw from North Sulawesi emerging as the winner (she will go on to represent Indonesia at the Miss Universe pageant).
But some netizens noticed that television censors were blurring out parts of some contestants wearing traditional Indonesian kebaya, which is considered to be one of the national costumes of Indonesia.

Memalukan! dan keterlaluan
hmm...
Akuh si niubi kak~
Mau gabung geng beauty op niubi ga?
They have done the corect thing.
The one that should be condemed is the designers and the one who wears it.
Like BCL she wore a long skirt gown but at the middle part you can see her hips , the cutting shows almost of her legs upbto her vagina. That is not indonesian culture. Nowadays alot of people start wearing their toilet gown on public places. Such as wearing shorts which is literally shory like "nutupin memek doang." (Only covers the vagina part) or shirts that exposes the breast.
Hey… somebody needs to stop it. That is not indonesian culture, it too vulgar to be exposed in a tv.
Imo
